BROKEN + BROKEN

I have been picking up glass shards on the street for over a decade.  Along side these fragments,  I have also been piling broken things from my own life.  After years of saving the glass, I created a  small series (in size and number) where I built wooden cradles to hold and form the glass into soft shapes. These substrates took weeks to build and I began thinking of other easier applications for the glass while also imagining a way to beautify my mishaps, sunglasses with the arm ripped off, a snow globe that had been shattered after being struck by a ball my kids were throwing in the house, and more. So began this project of completely coating these broken items with the broken glass.
