lLOVED LETTERS

These paintings are part of an ongoing series that intertwines the ephemera of my youth—birthday cards, thank you notes, letters before cellphones, news clippings, ticket stubs—and present day scraps—paint drippings, envelope edges, ripped magazine ads, to-do lists.  I embed these paper fragments into thick, glossy acrylics, transparent overlays, and matte swathes of varnish, forging a new path through old stories. This journey transforms the sentimental into a vibrant exploration of color and texture, creating a dynamic relationship between the materials that reflect both the weight of memory and the expanse of possible futures.
